A single mom in Saskatoon is blown away after getting the Christmas surprise of a lifetime.
Dina Fedoriuk showed up to her home at lunch time to find a full crew of C95 Christmas Wish volunteers and C95 hosts Rob, Shauna, Sheri and DJ Tanner.
With tears streaming down her face as she got out of the vehicle, Fedoriuk could barely form any words. Walking first through a fully decorated yard into her home full of presents, she trembled as she took in the sheer number of gifts throughout the house.
Fedoriuk expressed her deepest appreciation for the donations, from a new TV, cable, Netflix subscription and presents overflowing from under the tree in the living room, to a kitchen covered with groceries, gadgets and supplies.
Alongside her three-year-old daughter Bostyn, whose room was transformed into a Disney Frozen wonderland, Fedoriuk finished the tour outside where she found her new car donated by Precision Auto Body.
Fedoriuk works hard to make ends meet with her family. Working at a non-profit organization, she lives in low income housing. She and Bostyn often watch old VHS tapes because they don’t have cable or Internet. Holiday dinners consist of Shake and Bake because they cannot afford a turkey.
“This honestly changes my entire life. It really does. It just makes me want to be a better person every day. This is huge. I can’t even explain what this is going to do,” she said.
Over the past couple weeks, C95 listeners submitted nearly 200 nominations of deserving families. The Christmas Wish is made possible by the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon and other sponsors.
