Community Raises over $100,600 for the Prostate Assessment Centre
Over 300 people attended the sixth annual Uncover the Cure Cocktail Party at the Wascana Country Club Thursday evening. An initiative of Rawlco Radio, Uncover the Cure supports the Hospitals of Regina Foundation to benefit the Prostate Assessment Centre (PAC) at the Pasqua Hospital.
Tom Newton, Vice President and General Manager of Rawlco Radio, said, “Rawlco is heavily invested in supporting men’s healthcare. The PAC fills such an important need in our community. Rawlco is dedicated to keeping this Centre equipped with the most up to date technology. Thanks to everyone who supports Uncover the Cure - in just six years we have raised over $400,000.”
The PAC provides men with enhanced care, privacy and comfort and access to the best equipment, including biopsy tools, an ultrasound and vital signs monitors. This year’s proceeds will purchase biopsy and surgical equipment. One in every six or seven men will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime. Advancing the technology at the PAC is vitally important for the timely diagnosis and treatment.
Judy Davis, CEO of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, said, “Rawlco is a community leader in spreading awareness of men’s health issues. The PAC is a result of their hard work and commitment to our community. We also thank all of those who have attended this event. Their support makes all the difference.”
