The Gormley Gathering raises over $146,000 for the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Center of Health at St. Paul’s Hospital.
For a second straight year, The Gormley Gathering has raised an extraordinary amount of money to improve services for patients living with prostate cancer and other urological diseases in Saskatoon and across Saskatchewan. Guests to the second annual cocktail party and listeners to the John Gormley Live radio program on 650 CKOM Radio raised more than $146,000.00 for the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health at Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital.
The Gormley Gathering – presented by PotashCorp – is an annual cocktail party to raise funds and create awareness of the importance of urological health.
“In our second year, we were determined to push the envelope in not only raising money, but educating the masses on why prostate health is so important,” says CKOM talk show personality and ‘Gathering’ host John Gormley. “We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from our listeners and friends.”
Outside of ticket sales, major gifts included $25,000 from PotashCorp, $50,000 from Gordon and Jill Rawlinson, $20,000 from Bob and Sandra Stromberg, $5,000 from J&H Builder’s Warehouse, $5,000 from the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon, and $2,500 from Western Sales.
As well, listeners to CKOM’s John Gormley Live radio program were encouraged to contribute to the event by making telephone and online donations, which totaled over $9,100.
“We are grateful for the extraordinary support granted St. Paul’s Hospital through this Rawlco event to help fulfill the vision of the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health,” says St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation CEO Bruce Acton.
The Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health at St. Paul’s Hospital provides the best detection and treatment options available, along with a patient advocate to help navigate patients through the health care system.
