Motorcycle enthusiasts raise $21,000 for the Prostate Assessment Centre
Regina, SK, June 4, 2016 - The 8th annual Who’s Your Daddy Ride for Prostate Cancer successfully raised $21,000 in support of the Prostate Assessment Centre (PAC) at the Pasqua Hospital. Motorcycle enthusiasts revved their engines and took to Highway 11, from Regina to Chamberlain and back, to raise money and awareness for the PAC.
Over the last eight years, through Who’s Your Daddy has raised funds to help establish the Centre and provide funding for state-of-the art equipment and technology. This year, funds will go towards supporting research, education and technology.
Prostate cancer is rated as the most common cancer affecting men. With one in eight being diagnosed with the disease, the Prostate Assessment Centre is critically important in providing early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Last year, 1,200 men were assessed in the Centre.
“Although more men are being diagnosed with prostate cancer, improved testing and treatment options help them to move on and live a productive life,” says HRF President and CEO Dino Sophocleous. “It is our hope to make better lives for people who need care at our hospitals. Events like Who’s Your Daddy make that possible.”
