Rawlco Radio was honoured by the Western Association of Broadcasters with the Community Service Award for markets over 150,000 in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.
The award was for the inspired work on all six Saskatchewan stations for Rawlco’s Day of Caring. A day dedicated to raising desperately needed money for the victims of the Fort MacMurray fire.
At the end of the day, Rawlco Radio listeners raised over $700,000 for people they don’t know, in another province. Truly amazing.
It was a day of powerful, compelling radio and a province-wide team effort.
The WAB Community Service Award is the third award Rawlco Radio has won for Day of Caring. It has also been recognized regionally and Canada-wide by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).
